I love that quote from Murakami! As the year ends, I’m reflecting on possibilities for the coming year. Thank you!

Man I'm so glad I took the time to read this tonight! I'm excited to give the book a try.

Your point about not being bothered by the unknown is very comforting. In many ways, i feel the same, but I haven't quite been able to translate that feeling into words :) so thank you

"I experience a deep sense of trust in life that I’ve never had before. To such a degree that despite the familiar anxiety about not knowing, I actually don’t think I’m all that bothered. This new trust is completely irrational, illogical and unwarranted."

Love Thoth Adan's artwork, especially his Études Circulaires collection and Feng Shui collection.

I’d love to see his works in person. Have you had the chance?

Lovely. I really liked the poem, but I read something else into the end. "We are the daughters..." (or in my case sons, but I'll be a daughter for this argument) tells me that we are all connected. In these times, which are often extremely polarised, it's good to be reminded of that. We are all one.

And... YESYESYES on the book. Anything by Murakami is a joy to read. Killing Commendatore is no exception. It's a masterfully told story, that brings you into the world of deep dark holes, alternative realities and questions you should regularly ask yourself. It's really great.

I also resonate with your reading of the poem. We are all connected to each other now, and we are also connected to our ancestry, and to the beginning of time, to the Earth and the cosmos.

I love Murakami. Interestingly the first book of his I ever read was ‘what I talk about when I talk about running’ - before I even got to his fiction works. Quite a remarkable person.
