Bread — a poem by Punit Thakkar
From the Community
Sugar, yeast, salt, water, flour. Mix them, put aside for hours. ⏲ Let it sit till nicely risen. Put it in a baking prison. 👨🍳 After baking forty minutes. Put a thermometer in it. 🥵 Once it's at the right temperature. Put it out to cool in nature. ❄ When it's cooled just slice it open. Add some melted butter golden. 🧈 Or maybe just add some veggies Add some cheese - the kind that's stretchy. 🧀 Eat it up and feel content. And that's A Weekend Wisely Spent. 😇😇
As a design, emoji and bread enthusiast… I find this modern poem deeply satisfying.
I hope you enjoy this as much as I do, and a heartfelt shoutout to Punit’s substack, Hello Universe, from where each Tuesday I receive a delightful poem such as the one above.

What if everything was the same - but it looked better? Emily Downe presents her animated short, 'Better', exploring the ideal worlds of a perfectionist culture where a fantasy jungle acts as a portal to bring these worlds into 'real life'.
Better is part of a series of short films (5 minutes) from The Barbican’s Life Rewired series.
You can also find more Emily Downe’s animations here, here, and here.

On ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ - a quote from James Clear
From the Internet
“No is a decision. Yes is a responsibility”
— James Clear
I’ve talked about James Clear multiple times before, so I’ll keep this to a minimum. If you like Three Things Weekly, you’ll love James’ 3-2-1 Thursday Newsletters.
QUESTION FOR YOU
What are you saying no to this week?
What are you saying yes to this week?
No is such a powerful word! It takes courage and practice to say it.
