Untitled — paintings by Swarez Art
From the Community
I had the privilege of visiting the Swarez Art studios earlier this year. As it happens, they’re located about 5 minutes away from my home. Seeing the paintings live had be quite present to the very intimate partnership between artist and paint.
Ed’s particular style gives the paint itself a lot of freedom to find its rightful place on the canvas, requiring a presence and attention we might recognise as flow.
Every week, they live stream their process on there YouTube Channel here.

Abstract — a documentary series on Netflix
From the Internet
In writing this newsletter, I discovered that Netflix publishes some of its shows on YouTube, viewable for FREE. How cool is that?
Linked above is the first episode of Season 1 (of 2) of this documentary series featuring various creatives. It’s really well put-together and incredibly inspiring.
For the whole of Season 1, see the YouTube playlist here.

Idea Recycling — an idea from Tiago Forte
From the Internet
Physical objects degrade over time. By contrast, when ideas are recycled they upgrade.
If you’ve nosed around our space for a while, you’ll have seen our claim that human being is inherently creative - we’re always creating something and when we’re not intentional about it we create messes.
Tiago Forte, author of Building a Second Brain talks about taking even the smallest things we create (a process, an email, a text message, a thought) seriously, and start recycling ideas to create meaningful things.
Listen to the 10 minute podcast episode below.

I will certainly have a listen to that podcast. Idea recycling seems like a great idea. Immediately it triggered thoughts of OpenIDEO, where people share ideas to improve the world based on challenges. Have a look here: https://www.openideo.com/
Idea Recycling was incredible! (and I'm not a big podcast listener) Bob Goff is an author who talks a lot about writing ideas down as soon as they happen, especially when in conversation. This podcast took that to an entirely new level for me and could be a game changer in my writing. Thanks!
